Litchfield Country Club
CONNECTICUT
Down the road, nestled in a white, classical Georgian building is the lowkey Litchfield Country Club. Reimagined by Champalimaud Design, the Club embraces individuality and idiosyncrasy, bringing new form and color to its easy charm. In each space is a warm intimacy, many small moments broken from a larger story of laidback elegance.

The project begins with a repositioned entry inviting guests to walk a new yet somehow familiar space, warm light cast ahead as you find your seat for drinks or a tête-à-tête by the fireplace. A main dining room surrounds eighty seats with a quiet color palette of off-white complementing a strong pattern of three-dimensional latticework. Redesigned acoustics shape a space that buzzes with new life. We drew an easy flow into the Club, making every room feel part of a whole, though each with its own distinct character.

A practical place of bold color and sophisticated comfort
With contemporary furniture and finishes harkening back to 18th century Georgian styles, the Litchfield Country Club is a practical place of bold color and sophisticated comfort. Blue limewash paint coats the upper dining room in broad strokes, and grasscloth wallcoverings bring texture behind close conversation between friends. The Club plays host to everything. An intimate dinner between friends, or a group of children gathered around the banquette on a summer day.
