The Newbury

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS

Our renovation of the Newbury Boston thoughtfully considered the city’s rich history, the prestigious location of the hotel, and the discerning expectations of the modern day traveler. The studio’s goal was to breathe new life into the guestroom experience by way of bold and impactful design and renewed master planning and millwork.

Breathe new life into the guestroom experience.

Throughout the renovation, framing was important. The hotel is located at the edge of Boston’s picturesque Public Garden. We strived to create a sort of tableau for guests by offering unobstructed views through beautifully framed window niches in every room.  The willow murals in the guestroom corridors lend a nod to the exterior.

A color palette of grays, blues and creams complement simple furnishings with beautiful lines.

Nothing is overdone, rather subtly sophisticated.

The guestrooms are tailored to feel residential and welcoming, with a layout that’s mindful of how one wishes to engage with the space during their visit. Accents are rooted in Boston tradition, herringbones and plaids grace select furnishings and rugs. The foyer, bathroom and closet are designed to feel like one generous dressing room. Off-white limestone and wood finishes incorporated in both the closet and vanity create a bright and relaxing environment.
