At Sunrise East 56th Street, Champalimaud Design created a different world for each level of the senior living community. Distinguished lounge spaces and residences feature custom-designed furniture, millwork, mouldings and carpeting to create a seamless transition from the resident’s former living space to their home at Sunrise. Every work of bespoke furniture is functional but never compromising on style.

Careful considerations were made in the design of each space including removing mirrored, reflective and glass surfaces to help with vision sensitivity. Lighting was specially made to adapt to the circadian rhythm of the residents with cove lighting installed in the suites to create an uplifting space. Handrails were cleverly disguised as wainscoting panels to uphold the residential feel.
